Top Non-Profit Healthcare System Wins $750K Grant to Help Its Workers

One of the top nonprofit healthcare systems in the U.S. has won a $750,000 grant to help its workers who have struggled during the coronavirus pandemic. So reports KTAR News.

red cross 303433 640smallBanner Health, headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, will put the money awarded by the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust into its Supporting Our Staff fund. That fund saw applications skyrocket from an average of 12 per month to 450+ in April.

“So many of our healthcare providers and hospital team members are on the front lines every day, without the option of staying home with young children needing care,” said Banner Health Chief Human Resources Officer Naomi Cramer, according to KTAR News. “Life goes on even during a pandemic, meaning the usual factors that can create a hardship for employees still exist and may even be amplified.”
