Yahoo CEO Sending Mixed Message By Taking Little Time Off for Birth of Twins?

Marissa Mayer, CEO of Yahoo, will be having identical twins in December, but will not be taking much time off despite the company’s generous family-leave policy. So reports Newsweek.

When her son Macallister was born in 2012, she took less than two weeks off. Some experts question if Mayer is sending a mixed message, though, by exhibiting the capability to successfully manage work and personal life, yet delegitimizing the need to take extended time off at critical family junctures.

Others wonder if generous family-leave policies will truly take hold so long as the corporate culture remains one of implied dedication to the company.
