Most of us in corporate life have been inspired at some point by exceptional leadership: a visionary CEO; a charismatic president; the creation of entire new industries due to break-through advances in technology or science. The latest documentary on 20^th-century American life created by Ken Burns (the creator of influential series about the Civil War, baseball, jazz and World War II, among other seminal events), and broadcast recently on PBS, focuses on the extraordinary contributions to American political, economic and social policies by the Roosevelt family: specifically, presidents Theodore and Franklin, as well as Eleanor, arguably the most famous and influential of all 20^th-century women.
